Saving Money

Published by lotstosay at 5:36 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Why is it so hard to save money?  With a growing family and growing debt, I don’t know how I am going to keep up!  If it’s not the car that needs maintenance, it’s that Matthew needs a new pair of shoes, Michael needs a vaccine (not covered by OHIP), or the basement floods, destroying the carpet and furniture (and to top it off, insurance doesn’t cover natural disasters).   I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I can provide some advice that will enable you to save money and keep your family from having to live a depleting lifestyle.  1. Always look for sales and use coupons, when items are on sale, stock up.2.  Wash all your clothes with cold water.  This saves money and the environment.  Not to mention, it saves clothes from fading.3.  Make your own snacks.  If you have children going to school, make their snacks.  Choose 1 day a week that you dedicate to baking.  You can make cookies, brownies, date squares, etc.  This way you know what ingredients are included.4.  Try to shop at thrift shops.  You can really find some diamonds in the dust.

5.  Make a list. Plan before you go grocery shopping.  Be sure to eat before the trip or else you might do some compulsive buying.
